This game tests visual short-term memory specifically — research has consistently shown that humans can hold about 4 items in active visual memory before performance breaks down. Most players get to level 5 or 6 (around 6-7 lit cells) before reliably failing. The world record for similar pattern-memory tasks is in the high teens, but those are people who train. Five-by-five grid, three-second display window, no penalty for taking your time on the recall phase.
How to play
Watch which cells light up. After the pattern hides, click each cell you saw, in any order. One wrong click ends the round.
